Today nearly everyone has access to a video camera. It is the creativity and dedication that goes into producing a piece that can turn the mundane into the extraordinary.
On Thursday April 11 at 7 p.m. at the Irish Auditorium at Lowell High School that extraordinary work will be screened and celebrated at the 1st Merrimack Valley Film Festival.
Organized by Lowell High School and Lowell Educational Television, student films from area school including Lowell High, Billerica Memorial High School, Westford Academy, Nashoba Valley Technical High School and Amesbury High will be showcased, with awards given in many categories including best public service announcement, fiction piece, non-fiction piece, writing, directing, editing and videography.
The evening’s keynote speaker is Lowell native Chris Byers, the Director of Studio Operations and Marketing for New England Studios at Devens, who has held many jobs in the film industry over his career — including stunt man!
